…and we are gaining steam!
July is a fun filled month to finish off our Vacation Reading Program!
On Monday, July 1st Tots will have their own storytime of I Dig Big Machines from 10:30 to 11:00. Tuesday is a full day! We will begin at 3:30 with an Archaeological Dig with Ranger Jodi for ages 5 – 12. Tweens will also have their own Glow-in-the-Dark Cave from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
As a reminder, all Houston County Public Libraries will be closed Thursday, July 4th, for the holiday. All branches will reopen on Friday for normal business hours.
The second week of activities offers something for every age group! Beginning on Monday, our pre-registered Tweens will have a Chalkboard Flower Pot craft from 1-2. Please give us a call if you’d like your 9 – 12 year old included. Tuesday is a expected to be a lot of fun for all ages. Children are invited to attend Bedtime Stories with their favorite stuffed animal or dolly friend. Following the storytime, animals and dolly friends are invited to stay behind for a special library sleepover! They will have their own fun during their night at the library. Special friends will be available for pick up and to share about their night at 2 pm on Wednesday. Wednesday, July 10th also offers our Adult A Good Yarn Club at 10:30. Bring your needle work and get crafting with a great group. If you’re just getting started, don’t let that keep you! Ms. Long will provide crochet lessons, just bring a skein of yarn and a size H or J hook. Friday is another full day of activity with our M.V.P. Advisory Board at 10:30 and all-ages library skit entitled “Dig into Some Good Books” at 3:30-4:30.
Can you believe that when we make it to the week of July 15th, we will had made it to the last week of Vacation Reading?! Well neither can we! We aren’t ready to stop having fun yet, so we have a blow out week planned. Our Tots are invited to a Creeping Critters storytime at 10:30 – 11:00 on Monday, July 15th. Tuesday evening is reserved for our Teens and Adults. Teens are invited to enjoy the Psychological Illusions of Sean Waters at 6pm while our adults are learning seed saving at the same time! Adults, don’t forget to register for the Seed Saving Workshop at 6pm! There’s still plenty of time for reading and turning in logs. So keep it up!
Not to be forgotten, Perry’s Mystery Book Club will meet on Friday, July 26th at 10:30. This month we will be reading Leslie Meier. We look forward to seeing you soon!
