We have some extra fun available to your family as well.

Students in K-12 are able to earn a free ticket to a 2013-2014 Atlanta Hawks game with the purchase of an adult ticket. Participation in this program is super easy and is a great reward for summer reading!
To receive your ticket, start by reading 5 books. Remember to write down the titles, because the Atlanta Hawks are going to ask for them on the registration form. Once you’ve read the 5 books, a parent or guardian needs to visit: www.CheckItOutReading.com Parents fill out a quick form and children are then registered for their free youth ticket. It’s really that easy!
Each child may only register once, so there’s only one free ticket per child. Also it appears that full registration begins in mid-June, so you have plenty of time to get reading those 5 books. Don’t feel the need to rush though, as the registration deadline isn’t until August 17th. Don’t forget you can count books read for both the library’s Vacation Reading Program and Atlanta Hawks. We encourage double dipping!
After September 1, 2013, parents will receive an email with ticket information. The program is structured this way because the Atlanta Hawks schedule isn’t finalized until the end of August. This follow up email with ticket information allows parents to select a game that is convenient for the family.
We hope that this activity and partnership between the Atlanta Hawks and Georgia Public Library Service is just one more way to add fun and interest to your summer reading!
