Join us for fun this month at Perry Library.
Children are invited to join Ms. Yolanda for the following regularly scheduled storytimes:
Monday: Toddlers (2-3 years old) at 10:30 a.m.
Pre-K (4-5 years old) at 11:15 a.m.
Thursday: Lapsit (1-2 years old) at 10:30 a.m.
Homeschool (reading & writing independently) at 11:15 a.m.
This is also the week that K-5th grade also has their own evening storytime! On the evening of Tuesday, April 9th elementary students are invited to wear their pajamas for bedtime stories with Ms. Yolanda.
Adults have some of their own programming on Wednesday, April 10th with the Wednesday Write-In from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the library meeting room. It is a special space set aside for writers of all genres and interests to create in a dedicated space.
The week of April 15th is a bit of an encore week for the library. Due to popular demand we have some repeat programming. Those planning on attending the Pre-K storytime on Monday will have the treat of Bug Yoga with Ms. Marie. Ms. Marie is the resident library Yogini. Her programs are always a big hit!
On Tuesday, April 16th Perry Library will be at Rozar Park for the Houston Healthcare Senior Camp. Their theme is Out With the Old, In With the New: Things to wash, dust, sweep, oil, polish and mop to improve your life! The library sure has a lot of resources to help you improve your life and we’re thrilled to be invited to share them with you.
Adults will have their own encore of the Quilting in History program on Friday, April 19th at 10:30 a.m. Ms. Rawls presented a talk on the use of quilts in the Underground Railroad in February. The program was both educational and entertaining. Due to popular demand, we’ve invited her back for a daytime presentation.
The Mystery Book Club will meet on Friday, April 26th at 10:30 in the library meeting room. The members of the group select their own books to read around a theme. April’s theme is Jill Churchill. Just read any one of her titles and come prepared to share what you liked, didn’t like and whether you would recommend it to a friend. Review sheets are available at the desk if you would prefer.
Teens get in on the fun on Tuesday, April 30th at 6:00 p.m. with a craft night. Teens ages 11 to 17 are invited to make bracelets out of magazines! It’s part of the month long effort to celebrate Earth Day and conservation. Please pre-register for this event so that enough supplies can be on hand for everyone.
If you have any questions about any of these programs or would like to reserve a spot at one of the limited space events, please call the library at 478-987-3050 x21. We look forward to seeing you this April at Perry Library!
