This month is jam-packed with wonderful and exciting programs for Dino Derby Month!! We encourage you to donate to the Centerville Public Library. Our donation dinos are hungry and need your extra change and bills to curb the pangs! Help the Centerville Public Library win the third annual dino derby – I know we can do it! All proceeds go toward children and teen programming efforts. That said, let me give you a break-down on all of our dino-riffic March events:
On March 11, we will host our regular Monday activities that include homeschool groups and a storytime. On the 14th, we will have a special game night for 3rd-6th grade – come prepared to play the Wii, compete in some board games, and have some refreshments with your friends! The Program begins at 6 PM.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! On the 18th, you can expect regular Monday activities. On the 19th, we will host our first ever dual-action program – Learning the art of origami for both teens (ages 11-17) and adults (18+)! We have had lots of adults ask us about this program, and this is your opportunity to come out and learn! The program starts at 6 PM and Beni, who is a local teen and origami expert, will facilitate. On the 21st, we will host an adult book signing from local author Tim Johnson. He has written several books, his most recent being Hot G.R.I.T.S in Your Relationship. This book stems from a background of counseling, and includes encouragement that will help strengthen your marriage and relationships. Program starts at 6:30 PM.
Oh, have we got some special things in store for you this week! Aside from our regular Monday activities (which will take place on the 25th), we will have A Teen Costume Contest & Party on the 26th! The teens will come dressed in their best costume and be prepared to strut their stuff on the “red carpet!” Family and friends are encouraged to attend and give money to “vote” for the best-dressed. Whoever gets the most money in their jar wins the competition! But wait, there’s more!! In case you thought we left out you’re younger kids, think again! On March 28th, we will host a costume contest for age 0-2nd grade at 6 PM, then another contest for 3rd-6th grade at 6:30 PM. These contests will work the same as with the teens. Dress elaborately! All proceeds from these events will go toward the library’s children and teen programming efforts & count toward the Dino Derby competition. Registration is required for all participants in the costume contests.
Thank you for your generous donations!
