Did you know that with your library card you can…
Learn a new language?
Download an ebook?
Download an audiobook?
Research your genealogy?
And you can do it all from home!
We would like to invite you to Web Resource Wednesdays at Perry Library during the month of September, in celebration of National Library Card Sign-Up Month. Web Resource Wednesdays will be an introduction to the library virtual resources in a classroom environment. Join us in the meeting room as together we browse the virtual resources such as language learning software, genealogy databases, audio and ebooks, and so much more!
Each class will be approximately 30 minutes long and will begin with a general introduction to library online resources. The class will then respond to each group’s needs. If we have a class full of college students we’ll spend time learning to use GALILEO and easily cite scholarly journals. Some classes might be more interested in genealogy or ebooks. Maybe you are interested in being guided through establishing a Mango Language Learning account. You might even find yourself attending each of the sessions to more thoroughly experience the wide variety of resources available.
Sessions will be held on Wednesdays throughout September. The times are varied to make it more likely for everyone to have an opportunity to attend. Additionally, these sessions are open to both teens and adults.

We recently held an information session for students and their parents on how to use library virtual resources. While the students certainly learned a lot, it was their parents that were most enthusiastic. Some knew that the resources were available but were just too intimidated to use them. Some had no idea these services were available to them at all. We look forward to helping you to utilize all of the services that your library card entitles you to!
