Found On the Shelf at Perry Library

Start with the Pennsylvania Dutch, add a great mystery, throw in some great food and you have the recipe for a great read!

Tamar Myers has a series of novels set in quaint PennDutch Inn. Magdelena Yoder is the Inn’s Mennonite Innkeeper and amateur sleuth. Throughout the series of 18 mysteries, she not only solves the case but whips up some great food as well. In the spirit of Joanna Fluke or Diane Mott Davidson, the great Amish food recipes are included!!

Did we mention a sense of humor? Tamar Myers has that, too. She has a quirky sense of humor that finds its way into her characters as well.  Carolyn Hart describes Myers’ books as ” A pinch of acerbity, a scoop of fun, and a pound of originality… a delicious treat.”

This was a great combination of all of my favorite things: Amish fiction, a great mystery and delicious recipes! If this combination appeals to you, stop in and check it out! You can find not only at Perry Public Library, but at all three branches which have a nice collection of Tamar Myers book in the adult mystery section under M MYE. Enjoy!

  1. I haven’t read this series, but I love the titles. Does this series have recipes in it like the Joanne Fluke books?

    • Yes, they do have recipes 🙂 Great Pennsylvania Dutch recipes even!
