It’s a new month, everyone! That means the start of more fabulous and educational programs at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library. We are kicking off March with great programs for the whole family, so check it out!
Below is a highlight of programs being held during the month of March at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library:
March 6: Books & PJs
First off, we are offering up a fun combination for a great storytime – books & PJs! If you like to hear stories, and your favorite way to do it is in your jammies, this is the night for you. If you are between the ages of 5 and 9, we would love to see you on this night from 6-6:30 PM for some great stories perfect for bed time. But before you get sleepy, we will make sure you get the wiggles out with some fun dance songs! And your only ticket to enter is wearing the cutest pajamas you own. See you then!
March 10: READing Paws
Come join us for great fun as we read to some very lovable therapy dogs! These furry friends are back for the 4th month in a row, and we are excited to once again offer your kids the opportunity to read to them in a comfortable and welcoming environment. This is a great way for your child to exercise newly developed reading skills or practice fluent literacy. The program is for ages 5-18 and reading slots are available between 12 and 2 PM. Sign-up is required – spaces fill quickly, so register your child today!
March 13: Teen Wii Night
The first program during March for teens is our monthly Wii night! We have a great time of eating, gaming, reading, and making new friends every month during this time, and we want you to come join us! We will be brawling with the Super Smash Bros and racing with those awesome Mario characters. . . oh, and of course we will eat pizza and have drinks! The good times will run from 6-7:30 PM and is appropriate for ages 10-17. Sign-up is preferred.
March 27: Trivia Night!
And here is March program #2 for our teens – our very first trivia night! If you like the game show Jeopardy!, you will enjoy this evening of learning and participation where we test your knowledge and see what you really know! And the best part? If you get stumped, you will have teammates who can help you figure out the answer! Come out and prove your knowledge to us on this evening from 6 to 7 PM. The program is for teens, ages 10-17 and sign-up is preferred.
Month-Long Event: Dr. Seuss
In honor of the king of fun rhymes, we are dedicating the entire month of March to Dr. Seuss! As many of you know, his birthday is March 2, and that’s also when The Lorax hits theatres. If you weren’t able to see the movie, we will be reading The Lorax for our first Dr. Seuss storytime on March 7. After that, we will be reading other famous titles by Seuss during every storytime, such as Horton Hears A Who and The Cat In the Hat. Since St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, can you guess which Seuss selection we will be reading that week. . .?
