The beginning of a new month means the start of more fabulous and educational programs at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library. November is packed with great fun for the whole family, so check it out!
Below is a highlight of programs being held during the month of November at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library:
Here at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library, we are very excited to offer our first 2011 bedtime stories! This night will be filled with reading, singing, and everything but yawning because everyone will be having a great time at the library. The program starts at 6:30 PM and is appropriate for all ages, so come out in your PJ’s and enjoy the fun!
November 21: Zumba
Calling all adults, teens, and kids! We want you to be fit for Turkey Day, so we are bringing in a professional Zumba instructor to make sure your body is in mint condition! If nothing else, it will at least allow you to have that extra helping of dressing – right? Come out as we enjoy an energizing session from 5-5:45 PM at the Nola Brantley Memorial Library. Sign up is required.
November 22: Wii Night
Alright teens, last month we all had a great time with Super Smash Brothers tournaments and Mariocart racing competitions. This month, we plan to do it all again! This has proven to be one of our most fun, eventful, and exciting evenings each month, so come on out and don’t forget to bring a friend and your appetite because we will have food! Wii night is for teens, ages 10 – 17 and will take place from 6-7:30 PM. Sign up is required.
Month-Long Event: Skippyjon Jones!
Do your kids love Skippyjon Jones as much as we do? If so, don’t forget to bring them every week to our story times in November! With the exception of Thanksgiving week, we will be reading Skippyjon books each story time and doing lots of fun crafts, such as Skippyjon masks and ears. We will even be reading the brand new book just released by Judy Schachner: Skippyjon Jones Class Action! To download our calendar of events and review our story time schedule, click here.
The month of November also holds several dates that we want you all to be mindful of. First, November 6th is when you must set your clocks back an hour! Daylight savings time will officially end that day. Also, keep in mind that all Houston County Public Libraries will be closed on the following days in November: the 11th for Veteran’s Day, and the 24th-25th for the Thanksgiving holiday. All libraries will also be closing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23rd.
